I'm hazy now on my source, but I believe Eric Voegelin (perhaps taking his view on this directly from Aristotle) basically said that political science involves three basic parts:

1) History -- study the past in order to know what has worked, and what has not worked.
2) Culture -- know your own society so that you will know what your people will tolerate.
3) Politics -- Based on History and Culture, go and figure out how to accomplish things.

We don't know history, we've been trying to alter our culture, we seem to have no idea how to get anything done except create more rot.

It would be nice if a mechanic were to show Republicans what success is like.

Interesting term, and I've also hear of the term "plumber" used as a "problem solver" while I was in the military many years ago.
Research those terms under "Operation Garden Plot" and you've be surprised at what you;ll find.

But getting back to the subject more in line of a REAL Republican success, HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF RONALD REAGAN ?
He showed Republican HOW TO BE successful.z
And the news media and the left has been trying to distort the truth about Ronald Reagan ever since ...
