Maybe there was a time you figured the artist formerly known as Tiger Woods had earned his own demise, that he had this coming to him all along. Maybe you thought he deserved to suffer on the golf course after the scandal, and after he spent his dynastic years wearing that invisible Do Not Disturb sign while keeping you, the sports fan, as far away as possible on the less fortunate side of the ropes.
Maybe you were a blind believer in karma, entrenched enough in the what-goes-around, comes-around crowd to enjoy watching Woods devolve into the worst kind of a muni-course hacker.
But even the most passionate haters can't find satisfaction in this anymore. Like him or not, Tiger Woods stands among the greatest athletes this country has ever produced. Who really wants to see him keep getting humiliated like he was Thursday at Chambers Bay, where the tattered remains of his indomitable aura were pancaked by the freight trains rumbling across the banks of Puget Sound?

There's an old saying: The universe isn't fair, but it is exact.

I find it fascinating that he was so successful, and seemingly an event in his personal life caused that to come apart.

I think there was more to it. The revelation of his ugly personal life cracked the media shell of Tiger Woods. With the media bloodhounds sniffing around, he had to quit steroids. I mean, how else could he win at Torrey Pines with a broken leg, but a few years later quit the 11th hole at Farmers because of "deactivated glutes?" Drugs.

I take some pleasure in it because Tiger is acting like a spoiled child. He swears, slams his clubs, and even quits when things aren’t going his way. The veneer of class he portrayed has long since come off.

Of course if he does ever win another major, all these same sportswriters will be gushing about “phenomenal perseverance” and “the greatest sports comeback of all time”.

Wasn’t he always known for swearing and losing his temper?

Don't worry your pretty little mind about that.

Could you explain the Tiger Woods Steriod stuff I have never heard this before.
To: nickcarraway
So he gets to retire young with a few hundred million in the bank and better prospects for making tens of millions more in commentary and endorsements than any of the poor shlubs reading this will ever have, and that’s “karma,” pay back or whatever ? Yo.

He was always known for those things. He has always been arrogant and standoffish. Cheap, too. He has never tipped much or none at all.
He also started changing the tradition of paying his caddie 10% of winnings. I'm not certain he was the first, but he made it respectable. Instead, he pays his caddie a set amount per week, win or lose, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'm sure his caddies don't go hungry.

A famous steroid "doctor" from Canada visited woods at his home. You can do your own research, but the media isn't interested in investigating or publicizing steroid use by the multimillion dollar face of several multibillion dollar corporations.

Well, right about now his caddie is probably better off on the weekly draw. There haven’t been winnings in a while.

Hey! Not true! I think he got like $17,000 from his recent last-place finish. :) 'Course that wont buy fuel for his jet.
