Your comments about poor Impulse control among liberal children is probably a very important factor re their failures, throughout their miserable lives.

"The differing ways of handling poor impulse control in children:

'Conservative parents: Correction and natural consequences where not permanently harmful. Children learn impulse control by desiring fewer negative consequences.'

Liberal pedagogy: Alleviate the consequences of poor impulse control and poor choices at the expense of others. Make the consequences painless.'"

In the book that is hated by left wing liberals, "The Triple Package" discusses why so many foreign children do so well academically versus our children.*

One of the three factors and probably the most important is the lack of impulse control by the failure group.

*The Triple Package" by Amy Chua and Jed Rubenfield.

Controlling impulses goes against the most basic foundation of liberalism,

that each person, being a “god” unto himself, should be able to decide right and wrong in the moment, and no “judgment”, including consequences, should befall him.

Dirty little secret about that.

It isn't true. Not apples to apples.

Here are some facts.

American children of Japanese descent perform better on standardized tests than Japanese children.

American children of Chinese descent perform better on standardized tests than Chinese children.

American children of Italian descent perform better on standardized tests than Italian children.

American children of Mexican descent perform better on standardized tests than Mexican children.

And so on for every group for which we have data.

The lone exception: American children of Finnish descent perform slightly worse on standardized tests than Finnish children.
