We once had a rabid feminist designer in our office, an acolyte of the natural school. And outlandish outfits. Leather mini skirt with big mesh stockings and fuzzy bunny slippers. Had a difficult time telling her she wasn’t quite suitable for meeting our clients.

That was decades ago but that image of bountiful leg hairs poking in every direction is seared in my memory.

Like a net was thrown over Sasquatch.

I had a female cousin who was not the prettiest apple in the basket and she had a cruddy attitude around people other than family. In the early 70s we went canoeing for about two hours and she sure had the hairy armpits. It was quite unnerving to see for a teenager like me.

She "came out" in the late 70s. Her bad attitude ensured she never got a decent job and she never had a stable relationship with any of her girlfriends.
