'She's your worst nightmare as a neighbour but imagine living with the beast of Butt Lane'
The terrifying tirades of Britain’s most nagging wife have been laid bare – in tapes released by her long-suffering neighbours.
The recordings were compiled as evidence against domestic bully Julie Griffiths over 18 months, helping to secure her five-year Asbo.
The 43-year-old subjected husband Norman to years of verbal abuse that could be heard clearly in the street.
Her vile temper would flare up over anything – and two riot vans carrying 20 cops once raced over as neighbours feared for Norman’s life.
Griffiths has since moved but one former neighbour said yesterday: “There were arguments about all sorts of trivial stuff.
“Whenever poor Norman went out to cut the grass, you had to get the tin hats on, as she would go berserk and start throwing things. The sound of the kitchen being trashed was a regular thing.
“We heard her raging because he had not spotted a tiny bit of grass not mown properly.
“Another time she went crazy when he took the last of the cornflakes.
“We’ve listened to Julie go mental when Norman comes home and forgets to take his shoes off. Our landline number was out on red alert at the police station and we were always treated as a priority incident, no matter what.”
Last year Griffiths – dubbed Nagsbo and also known as the Beast of Butt Lane in reference to a nearby main road – left her home of 13 years in Talke, Staffs, with Norman, 63, in tow.
But last month police rushed him from their new address to a safe house following their latest bust-up. Norman, married to Griffiths for 27 years, also spent last Christmas Eve in hospital after a row.

So easy even a caveman could do it.
Maybe they were using common sense and good judgment, by getting rid of her when she was 16. They might have grown weary of listening to her too.
