Choosing to be a woman.
Choosing to be black.

Now, I'm sure that's all fine and dandy, but what about all of those homosexuals who choose to be gay -- what's that?? That's NOT a choice? You're just born gay? Because God makes you like that? And it can't be changed or fixed or cured??

It’s very simple: If a personal characteristic being a choice provides the basis for expanding state power, then it’s a choice. If a personal characteristic being inborn provides that basis for expanding state power, then it’s inborn.
