It is good to have these pictures from space perspective now because if ISIS et al has anything to do with it they won’t be there to get pictures of in the future.

This is from a very good hand camera but still is a hand camera. Now think about what the pictures taken by the top-line military surveillance cameras must look like! I cannot help but wonder how many backyard sunbathers have ‘starred’ in unknown (to them) snapshots! Of course Cap d’Agde in France is probably regularly surveilled (just as a precautionary measure!)

But it is $10 to get down

The Space Station orbits around 200 miles above the earth. And it’s traveling around 5 miles per second.

And dont forget to ride a camel. :-) I refused to ride them there, because the camels were covered in fleas. My friends got great photos of themselves on a camel in front of the pyramids though.

Blurry to me. Let’s see a spy satellite view — they can read license plates.

ISS site. Tells when you can watch it go by. Also has a live feed of the Earth view during daylight.

When I was a teenager, I used to read books on the Great Pyramid. Do they allow anyone to sleep in the King’s Chamber? One book I read said that Napoleon slept there one night and came out completely shaken. Wouldn’t say what happened because he said no one would believe him.

Around 8:56 pm PDT tonight (Sunday) the ISS will be going by the North Star as viewed from Seattle. Visible for about 8 minutes total. Goes dark when it gets to Iowa.
