Because especially in the case of homosexual men, they are a community where one homosexual man is open to engaging in sodomy with almost any other homosexual man out there. That’s the “community” for you.

Because there is greater strength in perceived numbers. Admittedly, the number of professing homosexuals is a tiny sliver of the population. They must bolster their numbers, so they amalgamate like, but supposedly dissimilar, perversion groups to appear larger. They've somewhat succeeded in duping the public in this way.
