FULL TITLE: "This Is What Happens When You Dont Listen, Mom of 16-Year-Old New Orleans Girl Found Dead on Interstate Tells Teens"
During a vigil honoring the teens life, her mother Kenisha Martin-Nelson told a group of 200 teens that it is important for them to listen to their parents.
Young people dont want to listen to your parents, Kenisha Martin-Nelson said. This is what happens when you dont listen.
Martin-Nelson urged the group of teenagers to stop sneaking around. She said if her child would have just been honest with her, they wouldnt have been there remembering her life.
My baby had a demon that has been riding her for about five or six years, said Martin-Nelson. This is what happens when you dont listen I told my child two weeks ago God is going to put his hands on you and hes going to sit you down.
The woman went on to tell the crowd that Ward was her first love. She believes the driver who struck here daughter will be found.
Was she perfect? she asked. No. I had a rebellious child, but I loved her through it all. She did not deserve to die like this.
Martin-Nelson told WGNO she believes her daughter was murdered.

Kids do listen to their parents but Disney Kids can’t make any money off of it.
This is mainly incoherent.
I wonder what it is with some teenage girls....
I had more gray hair when my now 31 year daughter was 16...then I do now....
The things she tried to get away with...but dad was vigilant....LOL...
Her younger sister was almost a perfect child in comparison...
Yeah, how does a dead woman talk?
Can't tell from the story. Did the 16 year old kill her mother, or did the mother die from something else? And is it the grandmother who is talking about the mother being a bad child?
At least they were clear about the race involved.

A
Having had a teen daughter who was extremely rebellious (in my opinion) I can relate to this mother’s anguish. The fear of such a thing happening to us was never far away.
Never a father anywhere in sight with these situation. Never a father in sight. No wonder the kids don’t listen to their mothers. They can bully their moms. You are never too old to get a belt from a good father.
No fathers, and this is the society we get. It is only going to get worse.
Everyone from Oprah to the United States Government has been sending the message that they don't need a husband and their kids don't need a father.
So they go with it.
“her mother Kenisha Martin-Nelson”
That name has “big liberal” written all over it.
Same here.. It’s a bad feeling knowing you can reach out and help so many, except your dearly beloved flesh and blood daughter. Drugs and bad decisions ... I can only pray there is one more chance.. Chances get slimmer by the minute though. I see so many young women with the demon of addiction.
"Heavenly Father, I ask You in the name and through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ to bind and rebuke Satan and to put a hedge of protection around me and each one in my family. Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in
[us] will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6). In the name of Jesus Christ our Shepherd, Amen.
Lyndon B Johnson can be thanked
Well, fatherless families aren’t confined to the welfare rolls these days, so it’s too easy to blame LBJ alone for our problem. It’s a bipartisan and nonpartisan cultural crisis. Reagan didn’t help by signing No fault divorce into law in California. even Michael Reagan says that was a mistake that helped spur a national divorce revolution
According to the NOPD, Ward was last seen wearing a black shirt, black bike shorts, and orange slippers while walking river bound on Earhart Boulevard near Magnolia Street, at approximately midnight. At that time, she was attempting to get a ride to North Miro Street.
So she, a black girl, tried to walk or run across what looks like an eight lane freeway, in the middle of the night, when she was wearing a black shirt and shorts?
This is a tragedy, but what kind of 16 year girl has to be told not to do that?
