There was a long and interesting article 18 months back from maybe the American Spectator, or...maybe Weekly Standard, warning of this.

It examined the philosophical underpinnings of all this, going back to European intellectuals of the 19th century.

Basically hard-core leftists LOATHE the suburbs and the long-term goal is to have everyone living in huge, easily-patrolled, high-rise cell-blocks near a transport hub.

In short they want to get you out of ANYTHING (individual house, individually-owned car) that removes people from scrutiny.

They’re really, really serious, and it explained the jillion ways they have of making this happen:

Zoning, weird, new enviro-rules, tax policy, etc.

Really scary and amazing.

Suburban living requires two things; abundant good paying jobs and cheap energy. Take them away and Poof! No suburbs. Every 0bama policy has been directed toward destroying those two things.

I read an article in National Review 20 years ago about Section 8 housing and where it would lead and it all has come true!

agree and want to add that this was never about getting diversified housing into wealthy areas. Wealthy areas will turn down block grants and get along just fine.

This is about pitting neighbor against neighbor in the middle and lower middle class. Folks who are robbed by taxes and need some of that money back into their communities.

One more sector of the race war that the administration is ramping up.

What’s amazing is how constant the Left is through history. Their ideas and temperament never change.

Don't know that their idea this will help control people works. Sounds a lot like the old public housing projects, which worked so well.

which is the exact design of a concentration camp. From a military perspective any country that concentrates itself is setting itself up for death, especially in the age of nukes and genetically engineered viruses.

Despite their vast land holdings the Russian population is heavily concentrated in cities. If Reagan ever decided to he could have nuked the USSR off the map in a few hours.
