But HIV through iv drug use is sort of a self-inflicted wound. It only requires droplet exposure to TB (in range of a cough) to acquire it. Now, if that gets loose in the HIV crowd, it will be a real mess.

I’m well aware of that. I’m an RN.

Once someone has HIV they are prone to infections, bacterial and virus. They have a weakened immune system.

About 10-15 million Americans are infected with tuberculosis. For most people with healthy immune systems, this is not a problem. Nine out of 10 of them won’t develop active disease with symptoms.

The risk is great, however, for people who are HIV-positive. That’s because tuberculosis takes advantage of a weakened immune system, which is why it’s called an opportunistic infection. Worldwide, tuberculosis is the leading cause of death for people infected with HIV (human immunodeficiency syndrome).

If THAT happens, libs everywhere will go apesh*t for the “cause”. They’ll have rock concerts, fund raisers, make commercials, comic relief, etc. It’ll be everywhere that we have to do something about this now. Until then, no one will give a flying rip.
