The author picks capitalist sins. Funny, he does not mention abortion, socialism, or ESPN praising Bruce Jenner. No, he does not even mention watching ESPN deflategate, HLN, CNN etc
Apparently according to this genius, your a slob.
These stats need to be weighted for the effect of the welfare state. A good many of these attributes are encouraged by government policies.
The problem is what you think is healthy is not and even much of the so called Healthy food is now loaded with bad stuff. "Diet" drinks can actually make you crave more high calorie low nutrition food. It is a vicious cycle and unless you pay close attention to your food intake and what you buy at the grocery store you can really screw up your health in an amazingly short time.
The weirdest thing I find about traveling back south is how clean the sides of freeways are compared to California. There IS a certain demographic that apparently has not heard the good word of Woodsy Owl...
I’ve bagged some nice stuff along the freeways here to, among them 3 nice rings and a 1901 $20 double eagle...
Yeah but you don't see where those cattlemen ship those cows to be fattened on corn feed.
200 lbs of meat per year per person no way
Most of the cattle in this area of Louisiana are locally grown and processed locally. The treatment of these animals is very humane. They are stunned before they are killed and I have never heard one cow suffer in pain as it was put to death. I am sure that there are bad cattlemen, just like there are bad lawyers.
CAFOs are where cattle are sent after they leave the open range ranch. It is the last stop before the slaughter house. This is not just a few places in the USA this is how most of our beef is processed in the states. When you see the term "corn fed" it usually means those cows spent their last 30 or so days in a CAFO.
Chicken CAFOs are even more extreme. They are long windowless barns with barely any light and there can be tens of thousands of chickens in a single structure. Some of the local Chicken CAFOS near me have more than 40k chickens inside a single structure all crammed together. They spend their entire lives in those barns until they are shipped away for slaughter The smell from these barns can make you physically ill.
Animals were not meant to be crowded together in such high concentrations.
The IDF? DEFINITELY.
Thank GOD, that is not how we do it in my neck of the woods. I get my eggs from a local farmer and his chickens have the run of most of his farm.
CAFOs are in every state of the lower 48. You probably have several in your county/parish. CAFOs are the "Rule" not the exception to the rule. This is how it is done now.
I work hard enough—that belt I bought around January? Failed. I need a smaller one.
Otherwise, my work jeans are probably going to fall sometime between now and the next fortnight, when I get paid again.
IOW, not everyone in America is a slob.
(Not by a long shot. The preceding statement may have been true as late as 20 years ago. I retain it here for historical purposes.)
I don’t know...what are you thinking of?
Me three on hating flip-flops. If yiu like lovely shoes in leather try Hotter shoes. Hotterusa.com. I believe that is their web site address. English made and many styles fro sandals to heels. I have purchased many pairs of their shoes. Very comfortable ans stylish. When I have called in an order or speaking with the help desk, it is always a person with a soft English accent. Kinda cool.
Yep...and just like I said earlier in the thread (about pork); it has changed the taste of the product...totally disgusting. These animals spend their entire lives actually being "marinated" with the overwhelming stench of waste...yuck...and inhumane.
Of course, now that the entire economy has been pretty much destroyed we have no choice but to accept cheap and crappy food. Hurray for progress!
If the Founding Fathers were alive today and saw what the country had become, they wouldn’t bother risking life, liberty and wealth.
Why should they?
“Our lives center around pleasing ourselves, and we have become one of the most narcissistic societies in the history of the world.”
I must be growing up because as a teen in the ‘70s and young adult from the late ‘70s and ‘80s, that is what drove me to excess. Now that I’m in my mid-50’s, I don’t “live for today” but I do like to keep my Friday nights open.
I hate everyone, too.
