cruz needs to request a SCOTUS ruling on being eligible while not being born on the soil and to having two citizen parents.

he either does it now... or he risks handing it all to the dems if he gets the nomination and the SCOTUS rules against him as the dem candidate (which I believe will be ewarren) requests he be disqualified.

Obummer’s father was never a US citizen. That sets a judicial precedence. So, Cruz’s father being a Cuban citizen is no problem.

Now if only Cruz can synthesize a computer generated Hawaii birth certificate, he will be 100% in the same boat as Obummer and therefore 100% eligible.

I think Ted Cruz is very intelligent, a very good speaker, a prize winning debater and a fine conservative. My problem with Cruz is, he looks like senator McCarthy, does not have the disarming smile of a Reagan, or Rubio or Walker. In other words his likability ratings are keeping him from ascending to top 5. On top of that democrats hate him as much if not more than governor Palin. If he wins nomination, the Rats will come out of woodwork to vote for Hillary.

Again, I would rejoice if Ted Cruz becomes president. But I am a realist and therefore I place win-ability over my personal desires.

So silly. Ridiculous. Embarrassing. Everyone and anyone who understands the constitution says he is an American citizen and there is no controversy. These are scholars, not yahoos. I know several people who were born in Canada and they are legitimate American citizens. I have even touched them. The have SS numbers and can even legitimately vote. One even participated in a july 4th parade.

It is only a controversy in your head.

Why does he need SCOTUS involvement? The power to determine and make the rules of citizenship is not vested in the courts. It is an enumerated power of Congress. And per that power as expressed in Title 8 section 1401, Sen Cruz was a citizen at birth and thus meets the requirements for a natural born citizen.
