I like to call that Newton’s splat law, it is not the fall that kills you, but the sudden stop at the end of the fall. SPLAT.

Actually Newton was much smarter than that....He did not postulate that F=ma. That is the way it gets used in beginning physics. The truth is much deeper than that. Newton postulated that force is equal to momentum

Actually, it is the SUM (Sigma) of the forces equals mass times acceleration.

And, yes, Sir Isaac was a very, very smart man.
