He claimed she hid her marital status and age
A young man in Sri Lanka’s Kuliyapitiya area said that a woman deceived him into marrying her and now he suffers from depression and disgrace.
The 20-year-old youth lodged a complaint claiming that the woman not only hid her marital status but also her real age, reported ‘Gossip C Lanka’.
She is 28 years old and a mother of one child, he claimed.
She has been charged on two counts and ordered to pay a fine of [Sri Lankan] Rs1,000 for each charge.
She also received a 15-year suspended sentence.
The magistrate also ordered the accused to pay the young man [Sri Lankan] Rs50,000 as compensation.
