Family members were fuming after being turned away from the Northridge Academy High School ceremony
Mothers were left in tears as more than 100 people were locked out of a Souther California high school graduation ceremony Thursday because too many tickets had been distributed.
Family members were fuming after being turned away from the Northridge Academy High School ceremony, which was inside the California State University, Northridge's Matador Gymnasium. They were forced to wait outside as their loved ones went through their commencement. Campus police said about 150 people ended up without a seat. To make matters worse, they had already spent $6 per vehicle parking.
"They were trying to close the doors… mothers were crying and stuff, they wanted to see their daughters graduate," one parent said.
"No one had any idea what was going on, why people were not being allowed in," another disgruntled attendee said.
It is not known whether the event was oversold, or if fake tickets had been printed. Officials have yet to comment on what went wrong.
I love this time of year.
I went out for lunch the other day. The county uses the fair grounds for graduation. Many of the kids were coming in for lunch after the cermony.
The young ladies with their kids were extra special. I guess its good they got their diploma though.

Public school officials went wrong, that's what. No personal responsibility combined with sadistic cruelty and indifference, controlled by the most fascistic arm of liberal politics.

Well mothers, you sent your kids to the government yo train them. Don’t complain when that government showed you what they thought of you.
I have a novel solution, they should've played a game of musical chairs every 15 minutes, that way everybody gets a chance to sit down at some point.

I trust that there werent a lot of AMISH parents..locked out..as .there might well have been a near RIOT..were that the case

So they only locked out the mothers of girls? All the mothers of boys were allowed in?

I teach 5th grade and a 3rd grade teacher showed me one of their word problems that required 5 steps to finish. 5 steps for an 8 year old, that must be done sequentially. Ridiculous.
Anyone in neighborhood trying to go to lunch were going to be very late getting back to work! Traffic blocked on interstate for a very long time.
Apparently all the fathers were allowed in because of the patriarchy!
It just isn't a privilege if you can't enjoy it once in a while.
It’s the same reason hotels over book. A certain percentage of people are expected to not show up. And sometimes that group lets down the side and actually shows up. It’s unfortunate, and they probably should have figured out some sort of “over flow” plan, but it happens, probably every single year at multiple schools without it hitting the news.

My daughter graduated last weekend. With the last name starting with a “B” I would have been happy to leave after she received her diploma. It would be even better if the speakers went after the ceremony.
