The article at this link provides a detailed report of taxpayer money awarded to Walker donors through the agency he created and Chaired, WEDC.
The link to the full report is at the end of the article.
An Audit of WEDC was just completed and has been turned over to prosecutors at the end of May this year. The Prosecutor's office delayed their investigation until receiving the completed Audit Findings.
“MADISON (WKOW) — A liberal advocacy group reports that nearly 60 percent of the financial assistance money awarded by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) has gone to businesses whose owners or employees have donated money to the campaign of Gov. Scott Walker (R-Wisconsin) or the Republican Governors Association (RGA).”
I wonder how much research they did about the clinton crime family foundation? Humm, my guess, ZERO.
As compared to Hitlary and Bill’s so-called “Foundation”?
Show the comparison.
The Vicar of Bray
In good King Charless golden days,
When Loyalty no harm meant;
A Zealous High-Church man I was,
And so I gaind Preferment.
Unto my Flock I daily Preachd,
Kings are by God appointed,
And Damnd are those who dare resist,
Or touch the Lords Anointed.
And this is law, I will maintain
Unto my Dying Day, Sir.
That whatsoever King may reign,
I will be the Vicar of Bray, Sir!
When Royal James possest the crown,
And popery grew in fashion;
The Penal Law I shouted down,
And read the Declaration:
The Church of Rome I found would fit
Full well my Constitution,
And I had been a Jesuit,
But for the Revolution.
And this is Law, &c.
When William our Deliverer came,
To heal the Nations Grievance,
I turnd the Cat in Pan again,
And swore to him Allegiance:
Old Principles I did revoke,
Set conscience at a distance,
Passive Obedience is a Joke,
A Jest is non-resistance.
And this is Law, &c.
When Royal Anne became our Queen,
Then Church of Englands Glory,
Another face of things was seen,
And I became a Tory:
Occasional Conformists base
I Damnd, and Moderation,
And thought the Church in danger was,
From such Prevarication.
And this is Law, &c.
When George in Pudding time came oer,
And Moderate Men looked big, Sir,
My Principles I changd once more,
And so became a Whig, Sir.
And thus Preferment I procurd,
From our Faiths great Defender
And almost every day abjurd
The Pope, and the Pretender.
And this is Law, &c.
The Illustrious House of Hanover,
And Protestant succession,
To these I lustily will swear,
Whilst they can keep possession:
For in my Faith, and Loyalty,
I never once will faulter,
But George, my lawful king shall be,
Except the Times shoud alter.
And this is Law, &c.
So I guess that means Walker is no more corrupt than Hill and Bill? :-)
The liberals are desperate to stop him.
Yeah, that’s all. It will be one sad day if Walker gets on the ticket. The Dems are locked and loaded and ready to pull that trigger when it will do the most damage. If you examine the reports figures, and the timing of these allocations, it will be hard to defend against “Pay to Play” charges. We have the Audit Findings, but we have to wait to see what the Prosecutor makes of them and the other evidence presented.
Conservativejoy joining Free Republic in 2010, but has never posted an article until one month’s age. CJ has posted 16 articles in that one month and 9 of the total articles have been about Walker. All of these articles have been posted in the past week. CJ professes that he/she supports Ted Cruq, but only one on Cruz has ever been posted.
Curious
Those who live in Wisconsin and others who have watched carefully the politically dirty tricks that unsuccessfully tried to recall Walker, indict him, and put a stop to his reform agenda recognize that CJ is not well informed on this dust up.
So why the obsession to trundle out the Democratic Part talking points, especially without any cogent discussion of why we should pay attention to the dirty tricks. Accusations are easy to bring, I’d be more impresses if some real substance evidence.
Does the Cruz campaign know that their loyal volunteer is waging this campaign? I suspect not, but then it could also coming from another campaign and trying to blame it on Cruz.
They cite actual figures and names that came from the official audit. Since they are a Madison station, I doubt that they find as compelling a reason to launch a Clinton investigation, as to report on their own Governor.
Well the wheels are coming off the Walker bus and I’m not surprised. I never trusted the guy for some reason. Just could not get past lukewarm. He’s not the guy. We can do better than that for President of the United States.
Absolutely! President Ted Cruz. Accept No Substitute!
Cruz is definitely preferable over Walker.
WEDC Ping.
Can you refute the figures listed in the linked report? They came from the official Audit.
I haven’t posted Cruz articles because we have so many excellent folks here that stay on top of it. You will see posting of ant-Cruz articles from some of the same folks, because our candidate is not so fragile that he can’t take the scrutiny. We actually want to weigh both sides. Vetting is necessary and there has been very little of it until now for your candidate.
If Walker just isn’t your cup of tea that’s fine but this is pure nonsense.
The Republicans control the Governorship and both Houses of the legislature. By any normal division of spoils they’d have way more than 60% of the ‘goodies’.
They’ve been extraordinarily non-partisan in fact...
Thanks for the ping to DoughtyOne, Friend.
Which came first, the donation or the grant? If it was the grant first, they were great full recipients. If the donation came first, Walker might have a problem if it can be verified.
” nearly 60 percent of the financial assistance money awarded by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) has gone to businesses whose owners or employees have donated money to the campaign of Gov. Scott Walker (R-Wisconsin) or the Republican Governors Association (RGA).”
The WEDC is a government assistance program for the taxpayers of the State of Wisconsin not the Republican donors of Scott Walker’s governer’s campaign.
Lets get real here. Pay to play is pay to play. It looks bad, it sounds bad. Its probably bad.
You are right Walker is not my cup of tea. We have enough problems in the GOP right now without nominating a candidate who is suspect in any way, shape or form.
You’ve made a very serious logic error. I never said that I was a Walker supporter, and my major issue is the your amateurish “investigation” is going to hurt Cruz more that Walker, and Hillary will benefit more than anyone else out there.
Please contact the Cruz campaign and tell them what you are up to that that your are an enthusiastic supporter for Cruz and you have identified your attacks with Cruz.
Awarding businesses whose owners made a total of over Two Million dollars in donations to Walker’s campaign with hundreds of millions of tax dollars with no accountability attached looks LOT LIKE “Pay to Play”. We’ll have to wait and see what the prosecutor says now that all the info has been turned over to them.
What we do know is that only 7,000 or so jobs were created for all that tax money. That does not account for the number of jobs outsourced overseas by these companies, which would reduce the net gain of jobs substantially.
Facts are stubborn things and can’t be dismissed as talking points. The Audit was done and submitted by both Democrats and Republicans.
