As usual, the “upgrade” is really a huge downgrade.
Fools will be fools. (and there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch)
Well, I've got the Technical Preview in a VM -- I have to get familiar with it for professional reasons, since I'll be supporting users running it. So far I haven't seen anything about it that is a significant improvement over Win7 for the things I do, and the UI is considerably less pleasant (though better than Win8). So for me, anyway, it looks like a downgrade I will avoid as long as I can. That looks like 2020 or so, when Win7 security patches stop.
If I had been running Win8 (or 8.1) I'd probably consider it an upgrade. But from Win7? Not really.
