Florida has a big lizard problem. Between lion fish and Burmese pythons, Florida has a lot of invasive species problems -- and the newest is massive Nile Monitor Lizards.

Nile Monitor Lizards can grow to be almost 6 feet in length and weigh 33 pounds. They're mostly found in Northern Africa, but some households take them in as pets.

The "pets" are often let loose after getting too big, so they wind up on the streets. But that's not the only problem -- they start eating things, like neighbors' cats.

Time to open a loony bin for the Florida pet owners who import pythons and lizards and whatnot and then just let them loose when they can’t handle them any more.

I have an even better idea. Put them in a locked glass-walled cage with their abandoned pets. It would make for interesting viewing on pay per view.

Ringling Bros circus employees let a few monkeys escape in Sarasota and Desoto county decades ago and probably north of Tampa
The circus folks moved to Brooksville FL just north of Tampa after the big Sarasota building boom in the 60 and 1970s east of Ringling avenue .

Who would win, a wild chimp versus a ginormous Komodo dragon? You would think ‘King Kong Jr’ but the dragons have a septic bite.
A laser on their head would give an edge. Nice knowing you Cheetah.
