No Jack, no 24. He is 24.

Who’s the action hero who is anti-gun? Liam Nielson? lol
Sutherland’s too expensive. The revival’s ratings went into the toilet. They can’t afford a series with Sutherland’s salary and those ratings. It’s also possible the man has passed his sell-by date as an action hero. The question is whether Fox can find someone to fill the shoes of a young Sutherland.
Drink hot chocolate.
Fight terrorists.

My plot would be Ted Cruz hunting down Democrats seeking to betray America.
The surprise plot twist would be that the conspirators include the President and the present and former Secretaries of State.
Some things should be allowed to pass away quietly.
They should just pay Vince Flynn’s estate one billion dollars and turn 24 into a Mitch Rapp series.
“24 Spinoff at Fox Would Revolve Around a New Male Character”

Not sure the same format/subject matter would work in the current culture. It seems that any recent TV series involving war or terrorism or espionage just cannot get much viewership to survive.

Nukes on the loose. One fizzles in a city. Another isn't tossed into the Pacific (because they had to protect the "valuable marine estuaries") and instead threw it in a canyon halfway between L.A. and Vegas. (I live in Vegas.) They figured it would be more acceptable to endanger PEOPLE over fish.
Then, to make it worse, we're bending over backward to the Russkies and Chi-coms about THEIR loose nukes. You know? The nukes that fizzle and explode on U.S. soil? We're apologizing to THEM?!
We should have rattled a saber to make them quake in their boots.
But Hollyweird screenwriters see the world differently, and they do not share my worldview.
So, when that became too apparent, I stopped watching. The final straw was when Jack Bauer sought religious comfort from an Imam. I turned the set off and have never looked back.
