From what I have just read I suggest that every expecting mother lie about when your last period was adding one month. It could save your child’s life.

“.. every expecting mother lie about when your last period was..”

They determine the date based on sonogram size and fetal development. Unfortunately, not knowing the date or estimating doesn’t help. :(

Yes they do go by ultrasound. When my husband and I were trying to conceive I was charting my temps every day to know exactly when I had ovulated. I pretty much knew the very day I got pregnant just from my charting. But, I have always had irregular cycles, so when I went to my first appointment with the OB they went by the ultrasound and not my charting. So, immediately they were telling me I was a week further along than I knew I was, based on the ultrasound, which when printed out has a note at the bottom “+ or - 7 days”. Now, as the pregnancy progresses if you are coming up to your predetermined due date and aren’t showing any signs of delivering soon they will pressure you into a c-section. Tell em you’re a month ahead, even if they did listen to you, and they’d be pressuring you to have that baby by c-section a month too early.
