dogging ping!!
When our Barkley was diagnosed with this, we started feeding him homemade dog food and taking him on walks and to the farm as much as possible. He was happy as long as Mr. Mercat was there.
There is nothing better in this world than dogs.
It’s a great gesture of love for a beloved pet soon to depart, but really it’s more for him than his dog. The dog will be happy wherever he is. Keep him comfortable and pain-free as much as possible for as long as possible. Give him all the love and affection that he can, while he can. Maybe traveling with him is his way of doing that, since his job apparently calls for it.
How wonderful.
When our dog was diagnosed with a short time due to Pancreatic cancer, we did something similar. We took him for a drive everyday. He loved his bye-byes in the car. He got McDonalds hamburgers (minus the pickles) and chicken strips. He also ate a bowl of vanilla ice cream each night. For what it is worth, at the end.. I felt like I made his last few weeks very happy and that was a comfort to me. Dang... now I’m all weepy.
Later
Our best buddies. Always happy to see us. Tail always wagging. Run to the door to greet us. Know when we’re down. Happy to be with us. Never demanding. Our dogs. Not our wives.
God bless their time together ... His heart is in the right place!
Dogs are the best. My little rescue Bichon, Rocky, is fading slowly with multiple medical issues. I treasure every moment with him.
