Frank’s at the bottom of a long list of people significantly better than him.
Frank could sing as well as William Shatner.
“I don’t know what to do, Godfather. My voice is weak, it’s weak. Anyway, if I had this part in the picture, it puts me right back on top, you know. But this... this man out there. He won’t give it to me, the head of the studio.”
I listen to Pandora quite a bit; and, I have a Frank Sinatra "channel" on my list. The first time I was playing that channel when my hubby was home, his comment was; "Man, that guy had no range." I started listening a little more carefully, and I could understand what hubby meant. I think, though, that he did have "style", which is difficult to quantify -- it is a quality, a personality.
Anyway, I heard stories from my father about his brother-in-law, whose family owned a local bar, and the time a couple of mafia types came in and informed him he WOULD be putting Sinatra on his juke box. Also, the rumor that the guy who got a horse's head in his bed was the producer of a movie Sinatra wanted to be in; but, this guy didn't want him. Don't know if that one is true or not; but, he seemed to have mafia friends who made sure he found success.
I’ve always liked Dean Martin better.
Frank is the best.
Does that make me a strange person?
I know you refuse to get involved
You won't help me out none
You run around like a paperdoll
Pretending it's fun
Oh, baby please don't run
Somethin' in the night, just don't sit right
Looks like I'm gonna be up all night, yeah
