In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
fictioneer
noun
1. someone who writes fiction especially in quantity and without high standards.
Origin:
1650s, from Latin fingere, The word is used generally to refer to any writer of fiction but often specifically to one who writes with little concern for literary quality.
Related forms:
The words effigy, feign, and figment are among others that trace back to that Latin verb.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

Here is a word you probably have never used but one you will enjoy. Have at it class.
How could I not know that!!

In the movie “Tombstone”, Doc Holliday mockingly refers to Johnny Ringo as “the dealdiest pistoleer since Wild Bill”, but that exchange probably never happened — Hollywood is filled with fictioneers.
Too true, and your use of the word is technically astute.
Ty Burr has an excellent article in the GLOBE about the issue of Sad Puppies that deals most helpfully with the toxicity of web dialogue and gives good advice on dealing with trolls.
I am looking for a more expanded use of the term, “fictioneer.” Consider Hillary’s emails or Brian Williams’ imaginings. Surely Obama pamphleteers the globe with his fantasies.
Have I run off the track?
