If everyone who bought MacKeeper files a claim, the reimbursement amount will be small. About one-third of the settlement will go to the attorneys who filed the suit, with the remainder to claimants after other administrative fees are deducted. A transcript of an April 16 hearing in the case shows some of the economics of class-action suits. Judge Conti pointed out that someone filing a claim might be lucky to receive maybe $3 based on a $2 million settlement. Class action lawsuits are a scam that overwhelmingly reward the lawyers and exploit the victims.

If any of you got tricked into buying MacKeeper, here's a chance to get some of your money back. MacKeeper has agreed to refund money under a Class Action settlement, although admitting no guilt, for "deceptive advertising practices." Too bad it is not for ALL of their ill-gotten profits for foisting their malware on Mac users, but at least it's for 10% of the $20.4 million in sales they made in the USA. PING!

AAARRRGGGHHHH! if you've installed MacKeeper
