A friend sent this to me via email. Appropriate for Memorial Day. Joe Galloway is a co-author of the best book to come out of the Vietnam War, We Were Soldiers Once, and Young. He also has spent most of the past 50 years as a combat correspondent flying into wars all over the world.

Normally, when I say "the press" or "the media", it is pejorative in nature.
With Joe, I say that he was one of "us", "us" being the snuffies in the trenches.
I really don't know how he survived in his field, since he damned sure was not a liberal and his writing reflected that.
One hell of a good man.

Yup, Joe was a decent man and a great reporter.
As an ex-Army Aviator, I salute you Joe.
God Bless our military fallen on this solemn occasion.

Thought his "We Were Soldiers Once ... and Young" was one hell of an account.
A legit page turner.

Thanks in large part to Joe, a chopper pilot nicknamed “Too Tall” and his boss, “Snake S**t”, both were recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Joe is a true class act. The media today couldn’t even carry his used underwear.
