19 Kids and Counting has been taken off the air.
The show has not been officially cancelled at this time, but has been removed from the network's lineup.
The move comes one day after Josh Duggar, the oldest son of the family featured on the program, admitted that he molested young girls when he was a teenager.
Making matters worse, it was also revealed that his parents worked to cover up this scandal.

Another might be that a "Christian counseling center" with no qualified health professionals, run by a guy with a home remodeling business, who has magically discovered that home remodeling is great therapy, is a pack of nonsense.
I wonder how many of the remodeling customers with small children were told that their contractor had a child predator on the (non?)payroll.
As to his not reoffending, well, maybe he hasn't or maybe now that he and his family have gotten some practice he is much better at keeping things under wraps.
I thought there were no police reports. I thought this was all covered up.
And again, I ask, why are they reporting someone’s juvenile record?
You have a very strange idea of what a cover up is. Apparently making a concerted effort to stop abuse, bring remorse, repentance, healing, restitution, forgiveness, and never once lying about any of it to anyone is still a cover up.

By the way, the “minors” you mention are his own children. He told his current wife what he had done before they were married and before they had kids. You are a very sick individual to advocate destroying this family for what this man did as a child.

I agree. You NEVER “get over it”. Affects relationships with family members and future spouse.
Nothing was sealed because it didn’t go to court. A family friend did what he could to curtail the investigation so that he got a slap on the wrist.
Why anyone has access to this, I don’t know.
But sex as reproduction was the norm worldwide until the 1920s.
What's different about the Duggars is that of their 19 children all survived past one year of age.
For most of human history, you could expect to lose one child out of two or three before they could get through their first winter, and you could likewise expect to lose one woman out of four to a difficult birth before should bear more than one or two children who lived to adulthood.
I know plenty of families who have eight or more children. And they don't live by all the Duggar family codes and rules.
These documents were requested FOIA, and were redacted as per law.

It would have been behind them if they remained private citizens. Anything that can be considered criminal behavior is never behind you if you are a public personality.
And they knew Oprah knew about it, so why would they think it was behind them when they signed with TLC 2 years later?

I personally would feel much safer for a child aged relative to be in a Duggar home than in the care of the “authorities”.
The authorities all across this nation can and do remove children in troubled homes and place them in the care of homosexuals.
I have talked with people who have lived through hellish foster care and group home scenarios. What happens routinely in many of those homes is far worse than what apparently happened in the Duggar home.
The Duggars handled this about as well I hope anyone could. The problem seems to have been resolved as well as anyone could hope for. Oh, other than supposed conservatives and self-righteous hypocrites joining with the Satanists and radical left in celebrating harm to this family and wishing all sorts of evil on them.

I want to be held to a higher standard.
I want to do what's right, I don't want to cover up for the Duggars' crimes or excuse them by arguing that they should get away with them because others do.
It never went to court. Apparently AR Law allows reports of sexual assaults to be given out via FOIA with names/addresses/phone numbers redacted. In this case, they redacted the names of the girls and Josh, but how hard was it to figure out the names of his sisters. There were 5 girls at that time. He molested four of them and a fifth non/family member (immediate family).
They didn’t really report it. The father called in a state trooper who was also a personal friend to give the boy a “stern talk.”
The trooper is now in jail on a child porn charge.
They always seemed off to me, as well.
The "Christian" who counseled Josh was Bill Gothard, the leader of the Duggars' faith, who later stepped down after being accused of sexual molestation by over 30 young girls.
The only thing I did notice is that despite her often-expressed belief in wifely submission, Michelle does all the exposition and most of the leadership, and Jim Bob doesn't say much or do much on camera.
But I found the discrepancy amusing, not sinister at all.
