...The deputy suffered a two-and-a-half-inch cut to his forehead and multiple bodily injuries. The doctor told the deputy it looked like the cut was made by a box cutter.
"They roughed him up, but the officer was able to press a button and release his K-9 from the backseat," Adam said. The dog bit at least one of the suspects, potentially saving the officer's life, Adam said.
That was more than good equipment and a good dog, Adam said.
"We have four K-9 units here, but only two of our vehicles are equipped with the pop mechanism," he said.
But because of that, the dog was able to get to the attackers and they ceased their attack on the deputy.

Quite a toll on cops lately.
The one killed in Chicago had a newborn ready to come home from the hospital tomorrow.
Another shot in South Carolina tonight.

Just shows that dogs are the best deterrents, especially certain dogs....
...more than guns, which may or may not be at the ready, and dependent totally on the owner’s awareness and access.

Also damning comments about Obama and Holder’s anti-police pogroms.

Just do a news search of officers wounded in the last couple of days.
Its pretty clear that its open season on cops.

That’s why we have German Shepherds and a Rottweiler.Formidable opponents and I trust their judgement on who’s a threat.

We just got a new German Shepherd puppy. He will be big. Only about 14 weeks old and 46 pounds. He already barks loudly at Post office and UPS deliveries. He will be a guard dog for sure.

He is a long coat GSD. Good for winters at this elevation in the Colorado Rockies.
