As usual, Walter Williams is right on target. (My recollection is that the fall of the Black illegitimacy rate to 14% was in 1930 data, that by 1940 it had headed back up to 20%; but the basic thrust of his article involves undeniable reality.

Of course, the breakdown of the White family has also been progressing rapidly since the 1950s. Both breakdowns are the result of Leftist promotions of Egalitarian notions that people are interchangeable; that they are not individually responsible for the choices they make; that having to struggle to build a decent life is a grievance, not a necessity, etc..

We are either going to wake up to the demoralization of America, or we are on the ash heap or history.
