Anti-religious (typically, anti-Christian) attitudes as are now spreading like wildfire through social media. Similar sentiments played out horrifically in the French Revolution, the Marxist purges in Eastern Europe and China, the Cristero War in Mexico, the killing fields of Cambodia, and the ongoing slaughter of Christians in the Middle East and Africa. Is it unreasonable to wonder if and how the virulent, anti-Christian attitudes of today will be unleashed in America?
The question hit home for me yesterday at the annual Minnesota Prayer Breakfast when Governor Dayton opened his remarks by stating:
You know the theme of todays prayer breakfast: unity around Jesus versus the disunity that takes place around religion has been a central issue, not only in our time, but throughout the course of history. Jesus preached love, acceptance, and forgiveness, and ever since his death too many of his followers have preached hatred, discrimination even war all in his name.
How much have things changed that a sitting governor would open his remarks to a room filled with 1,000 Christians gathered in good faith under the motto Unity in Jesus to pray for the governor and the state by insulting them?
How much have things changed that the governor would then shift from simply insulting the Christians gathered to a not-so-veiled threat about the need to submit to the power of the state? If you think thats a stretch, consider his words in full:
Religious dogmatism is another common cause of social discord. Some people insist that their rights to their religious convictions supersede their responsibilities as citizens in a lawful society. They forget Jesus teaching to Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesars, and render unto God the things that are Gods.

anti-religious?
I see nothing but love for Islam in the MSM
Bkmrk.
Everyone not familiar with the French Revolution should knowledge up on it. The reign of terror started out innocently as a noble leftist utopian fantasy targeting the inequities of the French people. Christians including clergy were targeted and murdered by the thousands.
Remember Vendee...
Good podcast ongoing right now on this very subject called "Revolutions".
Yup. They disposed that bad old King (who was perhaps clueless but not evil) and replaced him with an out of control power hungry clique that operated as a dictatorship. They executed their political enemies by the thousands, and eventually they were replaced by ... an emperor. Yeah that worked out real well.

He wouldn’t dare say this about Islam. And he would be telling the truth.
I have been reading more and more of the end times eschatology - and it’s getting eeriely familiar, every time I view the news...
I wonder how many companies would threaten to fire their employees if they put verse on their car. But that is exactly what we need to do. Too many of us don’t profess Jesus enough. And that includes me.
So I ask, if you knew you would be killed by professing Christ publicly, would you do it?
Poor Louis XVI, he should have been canonized.
It’s not his fault, he had an elder brother that predeceased him. Plus nobody would have expected his father would have died.
He was simply not up to the job to impose a Constitutional monarchy (which he actually supported).
Unfortunately the spirit of Jacobinism is well alive in America today. Brace yourselves.
Tell me, how many of those in attendance at this meeting walked out upon hearing Dayton’s remarks?
My guess is no one.
Shameful, simply shameful.
I believe we’re coming to the “end times” one way or the other. Either the one talked about in the Bible or simply the end of freedom worldwide and social and economic collapse. I hope it’s the Biblical one.
Just profess to follow Mohamed, then you can execute guys and women with impunity, and liberals will adore the ground you stand on.
We ARE in a spiritual battle, for certain. It is evidenced more every day. For those who are just waking up to it, I suggest you purchase Kay Arthur’s study book on it, called: Lord, Is It Warfare? It is a study on Ephesians, but different than most well-intended ones, it helps you to see the conflicts and how we are conflicted in our spirit by the world around us. It is not just another book written with a “personal” perspective, as so many are, but she uses Scripture to illuminate Scripture. This way you get God’s word on it and not man’s ideas.
Better question: Do you have a “sword”? If not, are you ready to sell your cloak and buy one?
Some of the criticisms of things done in the name of Christ are fair game. You cant argue those things didn’t happen. But what makes me mad is that with moslems our leaders wax on as to how peaceful it is, and what they contribute to us, and how horrible the world would be without islam.
With Christians, they go after bad behaviors decades, centuries, and even over a millennia ago.
Its insult to injury that Christians are being genocidally eradicated from the middle east as we speak.
People will indeed be forced to chose someday very soon.
Better question: Are you willing to use your sword and under what conditions?

They difference from the others listed is WE ARE ARMED! We will not go like sheep..........
