I equate it with treason. Lousy teachers should be hanged in the public square. Okay, a compromise then - school vouchers and let the market improve education and our nation.
I worked for a public school running the transportation department. It was a real eye opener. The most corrupt and incompetent people that I have ever known. After the 9/11 attack we had a meeting and I referred to Admiral Yamamoto’s “sleeping giant” statement. I later learned that the superintendent was making fun of me for quoting what he thought was a comic book character.
Long ago, there was a mobster in my suburban neighborhood for a while. He was the top “numbers” guy in Philly/AC. No one cared. He moved back in to the city. He told a neighbor “I feel like a nobody out here.”
