Though he broke no laws or jaws, Rocker, at 24, became a national symbol of hate, a pariah, too. On TV, radio and in print Saturday Night Live to The CBS Evening News with Dan Rather it became requisite to condemn and/or mock Rocker.

I must confess, it makes me glad he left the Rays.
It all depends on who you are, who you know..and what color skin you have.
Ironically John Rocker ended his baseball career with a minor league team on Long Island.
The Orioles lost three of four games in the Bronx.
