Not 100% certain, but I think if they are considering purchases to be a form of political contribution, FEC requires employer information for online donations.
Just tell them you are self employed. You really are if you stop to think about it.

OK maybe I was being a tad sensitive.
It doesn’t really matter as I’m retired but just the thought of them demanding that information. I was going to order under my wife’s name as she’s the one that wanted a sticker (I tend not to put anything on my vehicle) and I wasn’t going to put her employer down. Just went back and changed it to me and “retired” so will be getting them after all.
I very rarely post here as I enjoy reading more than arguing so I apologize that one of my infrequent posts is a rant that isn’t really relevant.
