It certainly was rather depressing, but it was over and done so quick. By the time the hail melted, I was already scheming on how I would make my comeback. I’m far from done gardening this season!
Gardeners have an extra dose of determination and optimism. I am reminded of a story about two little boys who were each presented with a pile of manure.
Now one little boy was terribly disappointed - he had all sorts of dire predictions as he was the pessimist.
The optimistic little boy was busy digging up a storm in all that manure. Whistling and smiling. When he was asked about it, he said, “with all this manure, there’s bound to be a pony in here somewhere!”
Now a gardener would be happy just to have the manure to dig and spread on his garden, knowing that even if he didn’t find a pony, he’d get a wonderful crop after planting seeds. LOL
