Mario Villalobos, 58, allegedly confessed to the killing when he showed the body to a woman who was visiting Saturday night.
The visitor, who goes by the name Bubbles, said Villalobos told her he was going to evict his roommate when the two got into a confrontation.
She kicked his dog she pepper sprayed him and she was fighting and he was grabbing her, Bubbles recalled Villalobos telling her.
She scratched him and then he grabbed her by her neck and squeezed it and squeezed it and squeezed it until she stopped moving, Bubbles claimed Villalobos told her.
Bubbles said she told a friend what she saw the next day and the friend eventually called police.
The tip led investigators to an apartment building in the 8700 block of Sepulveda Boulevard (map) where they discovered the body of a 48-year-old woman in a closet, the Los Angeles Police Department stated in a news release.
Villalobos, who was still in the apartment, was arrested and booked on suspicion of homicide, according to the news release.
