The players of the Baltimore Orioles and Chicago White Sox lined up for the national anthem this afternoon in front of an empty stadium, in unprecedented scenes never before witnessed in the history of baseball.
With the National Guard posted outside Camden Yards and debris still being cleaned up off the streets, the Orioles played the first ever MLB game behind closed doors.
Just before the players took the field The Beatles 'Day Tripper' blared out the PA system to an otherwise eerily silent stadium and 45,000 empty seats.

I wish to thank the Blacks of Baltimore for their contribution to the sullying of baseball. Their tireless efforts to disrupt and destroy business and surrounding communities are showing direct impacts to nations and people worldwide. Baltimore’s social and touristic dollars will surely affect the so-called ‘community’ that apparently Blacks can destroy with impunity, as such violence is within their ‘space.’
This was the biggest story of the day, if not the week. Thanks, Obama.

When the Braves signed Dan Uggla he was one of the best hitting second basemen in the game. He was dreck for three years in Atlanta hitting under 200 and striking out at a record setting pace. When the Braves cleared their roster in the off season they told Uggla to just go away even though they still had to pay him $13 million this season.
He drove in five runs against the Braves Tuesday. Too bad he couldn’t find that motivation the last three years. Infuriating.
