And he has been Delighting us ever since.

Love that guy his stuff is wonderful and gets tears flowing when i hear him Happy Birthday and i am so happy our lives overlapped
Definitely an icon in my growing up years. The first song that came to my mind was “Lineman”.
Locals say he was born in Billstown. Delight (”Dee-light”) is the nearby metropolis.
My brother had his high skoo graduation in 1963, and the entertainer at the restaurant gala was Glen Campbell.
Also, back in 2009, wifey and I went on a cross-country driving trip and went through Delight on the way to Crater of Diamonds State Park.....beautiful country, with a funky, faded little "birthplace of Glen Campbell" sign as we toodled through the tiny town.
Happy Birthday Glen. Thanks for OUTSTANDING music. (thanks to all linkers for the tunes)
And, back in 1969, when I disparaged his acting in TRUE GRIT, my then girlfriend dropped me like a hot rock!
She thought HE hung the moon!
I have a “very best” CD with a dozen of his hits. I play it often. Like Elvis, he didn’t just sing lyrics, but felt the emotion of the character in the song. You can hear the sorrow, regret and longing in ‘Galveston’, ‘Wichita Lineman’, and ‘By the Time I Get to Phoenix’.
Love ‘Rhinestone Cowboy’ and ‘Southern Nights’ too.
SWEET!!!
Too bad about the long goodbye but, we all gotta go...
I wonder, having been through a bit of it, if it’s harder on the family....
Happy Birthday Glenn! Whenever I hear his songs I hear Galveston or Lineman, I hear AMERICA, the land of the free and the brave.
Happy birthday to Mr. Campbell.
My friend was there for one of his final concerts. He told me Glen’s final song in that concert was a tribute to his personal faith:
THE SAVIOR I SING OF TODAY
