Then why not just voice control the damned phone and be done with it? You can. . . or you can have CarPlay installed in your car. . . but that doesn't do the same things as the Apple Watch.

My husband just got one for work, and he likes it.
He thinks it’s easier to use the nav through watch than his phone.
He likes it much better than he thought he would.

With smartwatches the answer to that is simple. A great many smartwatches users prefer large phablets that are kept in a brief case, purse, or cargo pocket when not in use.
These phones are pretty much full computer when combined with a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard.
