Exactly what fads are those? From all perspectives I've seen, it is the Android users who follow fads in phones. You don't see Apple users jumping from phone maker to phone maker to catch the next faddish gimmick in phone design. Nor does Apple jump quickly on Fad spec list additions to their phones or tablets such as 3D or 4K screens, useless phone sensors such as Samsung's SpO₂ blood oximeter and atmospheric hydrometers. Exactly what "fads" do Apple users, who generally keep their computers far longer than Windows computer users do, follow?

The evidence is that Apple users while fans of Apple products are not at all driven by "fads". . . and do not jump ship to other products merely to follow the popular trend. If that were so, they wouldn't be Apple users.
