Friends, it's Sunday night again and time to relax. Warm up the tubes for another 4 hours of classic radio Americana.
Info *tonight's show will be available at the "Info" link starting tomorrow.
Official OTR blog of "The Big Broadcast" thread:
Hey there BB fans, how’s your Sunday going? All is well in OTR land and we have a good show tonight...
Our Miss Brooks is always fun...then Suspense!...some sci-fi with X Minus One...and Lux!
Looking forward to it...
Finally, we have a "Suspense" and an "X Minus One." We love the mysteries and creepier shows. We have conflicting titles on the "Dragnet" show. It's either "Big Bop," according to WAMU, or "Big Bob," according to the Index. And, the "Lux" has an unusual description of the show as, "A portrait in bitchiness..."

HAHAHA!!! Good point!
It’s been a nice weekend, as the weather finally cleared up today. Over the past several days, we’ve had almost ten inches of rain, according to our backyard rain gauge. It was an amazingly rainy week. So, we’ve been doing yard work today, and I just got started on the laundry.
How about you? Any news?
Things are good. Bought a new pan for making pasta and love it. Did that and some steaks last night. Our lovely spring weather has turned a little cool and blowing now; expecting hard rain tonight. About to venture out for the pre dinner scooter ride.
Anything remarkable to report?
Keith’s knee has gone south this week. He had it injured while playing football when he was 18, and it’s been “bad” ever since. On Friday, it “locked up” on him when he woke up, and he couldn’t straighten it out all day; had to use crutches we borrowed from our friends.
Of all the years he’s had this bad knee, he’s never had it lock up like that, and it just so happens he went to an orthopedic surgeon a week or two ago, and the guy gave him a steroid shot in the knee. It didn’t help, and in fact, it seems to be worse, and then the lock-up.
It looks like he’s going to have to have knee replacement surgery, which will be a bummer. Do you know anyone who’s had that done, and if so, did it help?
So sorry to hear that. That’s terrible. Don’t know anyone, sorry.
How’s he doing today?
We did a yard job today, and then we came home and did our own yard. Keith’s knee has been bad since 1979, but only very recently, after that shot, has it really started acting up. Today, it just acts like it wants to “go out” on him. He’s a trooper, though. He has another appointment with that orthopedic surgeon on Tuesday morning. This will be an ordeal if he goes through with the surgery. The recovery, rehab, all that, and the fact that we can’t afford it. He has insurance through work, but we will still have a lot to pay.
I know several men who have had knee replacements. The physical therapy afterward is painful at first, but most have good results.
There are new and different kinds of knee replacement, such as the ones George W. Bush had at Chicago Rush University, so be sure to consult with an orthopedics expert or two.

Thanks very much for your feedback, Mark. Keith is really wanting to hear about people who’ve had this done. I agree he needs to talk with more than one doctor.
Prayers for Keith and Mike, my BIL.
And California. They need rain so badly.
Like how JD beat the confession out of the builder.
I believe Dragnet didn’t start off with the usual formula.
Thank you, Houmatt! Your prayers are greatly appreciated! And, yes, pray for rain for California and Texas and wherever else it’s badly needed.
We liked Johnny’s “enhanced interrogation,” too, Vision. :-)
The Dragnet episode was not the one they said it was going to be on the WAMU schedule.
... AND, prayers for your brother-in-law, too.
Bing Ping!
