What do you think of this? Despicable and outrageous, or just the school and police doing their duty?:
"On March 24, cannabis oil activist Shona Bandas life was flipped upside-down after her son was taken from her by the State of Kansas. The ordeal started when counselors at her 11-year-old sons school conducted a drug education class. Her son, who had previously lived in Colorado for a period of time, disagreed with some of the anti-pot points that were being made by school officials."
The school called the police. Coppers showed up at Shonas home, searched everything, and ended up finding two ounces of cannabis oil which she uses to treat her Crohns disease. The result? She could lose her child her ex has already been granted temporary custody of her son and Shona faces the battle of her life.
If this horrendous story doesnt convince you that marijuana should be legalized, I dont know what will. Its absolutely insane that Shona and many others like her are treated like psychopathic mass murderers, just because they use cannabis to treat an illness and because they believe others should be allowed to do the same.

I think God every day I am approaching the end of my life. I spent most of my life when dope was against the law and queers were still in the closet, when ever the National Anthem was played everyone stood up and was proud. The proudest point of my life, next to the birth of my two sons was when I took my oath upon joining the Army. At least my Father, a career Army man died at the end of the Reagan Administration and did see our decline. The only good thing is all the pervs will stand before God and answer for their sins at the end.....
This is an issue that has no good answer. We have lost the war on drugs and have turned our police into the Gestapo. On the other hand, having even more people on drugs is not very enticing to me. Who will take care of them when their brains become too fried to work? The taxpayer! No good answer.
The headline of the article makes it plain that states must not say no
Kansas custody lawyer checking in. I’m pretty sure there is more to this story.
Look. People in Kansas apparently live in Snitchville, a suburb of Police State, America.
I went directly to the source, since you pointed that out, and found some interesting things in the comments on the article in the local news rag.
A poster: Two former CIA employees are suing Kansas police, claiming a raid on their home was unfounded. They say a SWAT team descended on their home in April 2012 without a warrant in search of contraband, only to find vegetables growing in their basement. Adlynn and Robert Harte claimed that even after repeated attempts for clarification, police have refused to divulge any reasoning for the raid, the AP reports.
They believe the decision came from government officials who knew the Hartes had purchased equipment from a store selling hydroponics which can be used to grow marijuana, among other plants. With little or no other evidence of illegal activity, law enforcement officers make the assumption that shoppers at the store are potential marijuana growers, even though the stores are most commonly frequented by backyard gardeners who grow organically or start seedlings indoors, reads the couples lawsuit.
Robert and Adlyn said their two children, aged 7 and 13, were shocked and frightened when a SWAT team wielding assault weapons pounded on their door just after 7:00 in the morning. Robert Harte said that the family had three tomato plants, one melon and two butternut squash growing in the basement after using high powered lights to build the hydroponic garden years ago.

Another poster: People in KS support Shona. Wichita just voted to reduce penalties to a $50 fine and no jail for first offense possession. The KS Atty General is trying to declare the vote null & void. They know the tide has changed and but they resist changing the laws and enforcement. Free Shona from any charges and give her son back. DCF needs to immediately end the practice of taking kids away when the primary reason is parental marijuana use.
Yeah, many Lefties tend to neglect teaching their children the consequences of running their yaps in front of The Man.
The Lefties believe fervently in "free speech", whereas most conservatives realize that there is no free speech in Socialism Prison America.
To paraphrase the CSNY song:
"Teach, your children well, to dummy up, in front of the local Gauleiters..."
The headline is irrelevant with respect to your comment.
Again, States’ Rights is not a meme. It is a constitutional principle.

I’m guessing mom has other issues
If you think "states rights" means the state has the right to pass any law it wants then you don't understand the term.
What does that have to with the hemp oil activist being outed by her own child?
Sayeth another totalitarian liberaltarian.
And yet libertarians cannot be trusted even there

I agree. Lefties usually do.
After reading this article, I had yet another conversation with my 13-year-old son to remind him that when being questioned by school officials, government employees of any agency, and especially the police, for any reason whatsoever, the only words out of his mouth are to be:
“I will not answer any questions or have any conversations without a parent or an attorney present. Am I being detained or am I free to go?”
Well thank you grammar cop! Yes I screwed up, Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa, I am happy to have given your life meaning today.
See my reply to Misterioso and...........big smile, big smile!
