Art Bell and Keith Rowland have made it official: There will be July fireworks in 2015 .. the talk show legend is going to go his own way.. A podcasting style as opposed to the terrestrial or even satellite radio he did previously. This time he is greeting the 21st century with open arms, working out private deals to play music, hoping that fans sign up in big numbers to help his return, and beaming himself to every smart phone that wants him.

The show will be called MIDNIGHT IN THE DESERT.

Art Bell and X-Files both coming back. It’s a good day for those who love the weird. :)

I thought Art would return to the radio last summer, but I guess he didn’t have a satisfactory deal yet. I won’t be hearing Art on Pod Cast. I like to use my laptop with the volume turned off, and to read news blogs. Meanwhile, I have a radio tuned up in the background to the station of my choice. I have actually never tried to connect to a pod-cast, but I’m guessing that you must pay to hear it. I’m not likely to do that very often, certainly not every weeknight, which is the way I used to listen to Art Bell. I’m ready for someone else besides Noory. I wish they would open up the Boy’s Club to include people like Barbara Simpson, but after Barbara was cruelly fired by KSFO without notice, she may be done with all of the craziness and ineptitude of AM radio.

Information posted at his website seems to imply free streaming of the live show, with paid memberships having access to value-added stuff like the archives, chat sessions, etc.

Free streaming? I may give it a try, move further into the 21st Century. I tried to leave a comment on that Midnight in the Desert website, but their site interpreted my comment as spam. The system replied “You have submitted Spam. Please try again and say something productive!” Well, now, I thought, doesn’t that sound snotty and judgemental.

Yep, that's how I read it. The show itself will be a free live stream. Only the archived materials and chat will be a premium, but at $5 a month, that's pretty cheap. Looks like he put some research into his business model.

Just what we need, Art to come back and believe any and everything anyone ever says about everything. A true joke. At least Noory has tried to stop some of the complete untrueness that Art pedaled. Noory’s show is tons better than Art.
