In the low 70's here in west Michigan. Spring is finally here. Daffodils starting to open. I am way ahead of the game this year. Maybe it's the 19 pounds I lost in the fall. I have all the roses pruned, some bark chips spread, garden tilled once ( 2 more times to go). Spread out the compost from the new bin we got last year. I was impressed everything had broken down except for one egg shell. I am taking pictures this year. It's a slower process than most people to post. Camera to old desktop to photobucket to FR. Started up a new compost layer in the bin with some old barn cleanout from the goats, wasted hay, straw and manure. I'll throw in some leaves yet and I'm good to go. No asparagus showing yet. Lettuce going good in my big pot with the plexiglas cover. I uncover during the day. Also got my onion sets. Even though I use the walking onions, I like to have green onions handy in a pot outside on the patio. Whatever I have in the pot, I put a ring of green onions around it at the very edge of the pot. I haven't started any seedlings yet, I'll probably do just the russian tomatoes and buy the rest.
Have a couple of bigger projects planned for this summer, one is painting the barn. Picked up some new rough cut cedar 1X4 trim for one of the doors that the goats chewed up a little. As I get older every spring seems more glorious.

Great start - good idea about planting a circle of onions around the pot. I like to have green onions and chives available to harvest 1 or 2 for several dishes, but it’s a waste of space to have a big bunch, because I don’t use them that often so just sticking some in various pots would work well for me.
