Looks like Inoki beat Spinks outright a decade later. Still, it's unclear if this second fight was fixed, given that it took place near the height of the Japanese bubble, and involved a loss by submission rather than a draw after significant injury on both sides. From the Wiki:

In 1986 Spinks would also fight and lose to Inoki in the eighth round of a match for the WWF World Martial Arts Heavyweight Championship.

The fight is on You Tube.

Spinks and Inoki are wearing regulation boxing gloves in Round 1.

By Round 8, Inoki isn't wearing gloves, but Spinks still is.

How can you fight a wrestler with boxing gloves on, let alone maximize your punching power?

Watched a couple rounds, didn't see anything that looked like a serious punch from Spinks.

In the last round, Spinks isn't even fighting back, he just let's Inoki throw him down and put a leg lock around his neck.

I'd like to know if there was a betting line on this fight in Las Vegas, because if there was, every Spinks bettor in the world was screaming “FIX.”
