This discovery bothers me a lot. Everyone knows the usual progression in primitive weapons is rocks, or pieces of bone used as clubs, then comes the fashioning of clubs out of wood, then spears perhaps, followed by bows and arrows, etc.

But this ingenious species skipped over all that early stuff and went straight to handcrafted spears and is, therefore, an extremely, extremely dangerous incipient intelligence, far more intelligent than early man was, and we should nuke them RIGHT NOW before they discover nukes themselves and use them against us! ;-)
