Extrajudicial justice carried out by a mob as a result of a perceived violation of law or social norms in properly called a "lynching". You don't need a noose, and you don't need to kill the victim. Mob violence really the only requirement.

There are lynchings reported in the paper almost every day. Perhaps not 100% perpetrated by blacks, but pretty close to that.

The victim, Robert Barnes, is white. The perps are black. No wonder this one's buried in obscure local news media. If the tables were turned, this would be a national news headline for decades.
