Tiger Woods is competing for the first time in two months at this week's Masters Tournament. Woods took an indefinite leave of absence and said he would not return to competition until his game was ready. He announced last Friday his game was in shape for the season's first major. Woods is a four-time winner at Augusta National and is looking to claim his 15th career major title, and first since 2008.

Yea, I wonder how many in the field are still hoping for their first.......
HUH? The guy has won 14 MAJORS and he is a loser??
I hope he wins.
Winning tournaments is not my only measure of a winner.
Winning is not a measure of a winner? Curious.
You will also not convince me he was not taking PED’s during his run.
par on #6
That shot on seven. Just magic.
After winning that many majors, I think someone would discover him, some how.
Pars seven,+1 for the round.
PGA didn’t test for PEDs until 2009. Do the math with Tiger’s career.
BINGO!
Of all the doctors available, Tiger chose a Canadian who was busted for PEDs.
Now, Tiger no longer has that big bulky body typical of steroids/PEDs.
Add the fact steroid abusers’ bodies typically breakdown faster - exactly what Tiger has been experiencing the last few years.
You drive for show, but you putt for dough.
How do PEDs give you an advantage in touch around the greens?
Only 18 strokes a round do you even consider pulling a driver out of the bag. The remainder are around the green.
Exactly.
Top of the talent pile athletes wouldn’t seem to need it, but a very small edge at the top level of a game *could* make a difference.
I think with guys like Tiger or A-Rod it might have been more of a psychological edge.
Tiger birdies eight, even for the round.
Tiger first nine
3-bogies
2-birdies
Thats actually 14 times to use a driver (less 4 par threes) and also subtract lay-up holes with 3 wood or less. At the pro level that means 10-12 drivers per round.
Now for me I hit more drives than than, as many times hitting 3 from the tee. Overall the houses are way to close to the course.
The Masters was first played (as the Augusta National Invitation Tournament) in 1934. The name was changed to "The Masters" in 1939. It has been played every year except for 1943. So how in the world do they get "79" out of this?
I can see counting it from 1939 instead of 1934 (though they've never done that before). But why are they apparently counting it from 1936?
Can anybody explain this to me?
A person could be the best in the world and still be a loser. Mike Tyson....
Wasn’t held in ‘43 - ‘44 - ‘45.
I now it’s off limits for FR to use Wiki, but they show a 3 year hiatus during WW2.
