Obama says climate change is personal to him because daughter Malia had an asthma attack as a toddler

Said he can relate to 'fear a parent has when your four-year-old daughter comes up to you and says, "Daddy, I'm having trouble breathing" '

Health scare resulted in a single trip to the emergency room for Malia - who at the age of 16 now lives an active life, inhaler free

But other children aren't so fortunate; they they find themselves in and out the emergency room several times a year, he said

White House says higher temperatures lead to increases in wildfires, which send allergy-causing particulates into the air that can lead to greater and more serious incidents of asthma

New initiative aimed at slowing the pace of global warming puts front and center the personal cost of inaction

I went some time ago tot he Doc to get a refill and he said they can’t give it to me now due to it being banned. I looked into it and it stated that it was polluting the atmosphere.
I still get an inhaler but it does not work any where near as good. I told the Doc and he told me he had heard the same of others.

Since then I have had two attacks and they were so bad I had to have a injection to open the passage ways as I could not breathe.

I am so sorry-asthma is awful. Our son has gotten better as he has gotten himself in shape (he is 15). He tries to overcome it through sheer will, but that has landed him in the ER.

He tries to do that because is one of those guys who was born for the military-when he was twelve he wrote to every branch asking if they accepted people with asthma. No dice. He was crushed.

Years ago a medication that would stop my migraines in a flash was canceled by some guy (can’t think of his name) who decided that it wasn’t affective.

As for the military I never knew I had asthma because my foster parents never bothered to take me to the Docs for anything and that includes a broken knee. Good luck to your son and I am sure he will go far and be OK with a parent like you.

Spot on!!!! I remember reporters that had to travel on the campaign commenting on how the plane, bus, etc. stunk because of his smoking. And no telling what else.

Well, if that's the case, then I agree with Obama on climate change. What we need is a change in the climate of who occupies the White House.

That may not resolve his daughter's breathing problem but it sure would solve our problems with this guy trying to "change" our country.
