Its rare that a man is lost at sea and returns home looking even healthier than before he disappeared.
But thats exactly what skeptics of Louis Jordan have pointed out as they question the 37-year-olds miraculous account of surviving 66 days adrift in the Atlantic Ocean.
God knows I am a truthful man, Jordan told the Daily Mail in response to his doubters. My family knows I am telling the truth. The people who know me know that.
Jordans saga began Jan. 23, when he set sail from the marina in Conway, S.C., on a short fishing trip. He was reported missing six days later. A German tanker spotted him sitting atop his 35-foot-boats overturned hull 200 miles off the North Carolina coast on Thursday, a full 66 days after his disappearance.
By the time cameras caught up with him, Jordan, who claims his shoulder was broken when his boat overturned, wore a backpack, declined medical help and showed no obvious signs of injury, according to the Daily Mail.

The investigation of his story continues.
That, they would believed.
He looks too healthy to have been at sea like he says. Did he catch fish with his hands? He is a liar.
Harsh. He was on a sailboat right? So he likely had fishing gear? And he probably had food stores. One photo is rather thin evidence on which to call someone a liar.
“...sail from the marina in Conway, S.C., on a short fishing trip.”
A three hour tour.
First report I heard was his boat capsized. I wondered how he could have set himself up to survive 60 days with an upside down boat. Then I heard he caught fish with his bare hands. Then I heard he needed no medical attention.
None of it seemed to make sense.
A lot of far fetch points in his story. The weather at the time he was sailing was freezing cold. The Bible miraculously was not damaged at all after 3 times in the water. His arm seems to be mighty fine if broken. He looks like he ate quite well. Sunburn??? He is mighty pale.
My only thing I don’t understand is why would he regale such a tale? Does he have a need for attention? Is the story accurate?
Bottom line is if he is lying about the story and doesn’t make a dime off of it then I don’t care. Let him get his 15 minutes of fame but if he distorts money out of it then I have an issue with that.
Boat capsized? How did he get fresh water?
Ah - didn’t read the article - boat was overturned. I take back my comment above.
Still - who knows.
he said he was on a capsized boat for 66 days. He refused medical treatment after being rescued, and went straight to TV cameras. He is Rosie Ruiz.
Mr. Peabody and the Mermaid. Great movie.
William Powell and sixteen year old Ann Blyth at the mermaid. What a cutie!

People should watch his interview. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTkJxwtymKE
He was an experienced sailor, so he had some equipment for catching fish and for distilling water, but in both cases, it was extremely difficult to survive. He was eventually picked up by fishermen near the Caribbean, and the photos from that show a man barely alive. After seeing the pictures of this new guy, I was stunned. It doesn't even looked like he'd been out for a week.
The air temps were below 10 degrees F...

First call he made to his dad. I do not hear much excitement.
The condition of the boat should demonstrate how long it was overturned in the water.
If faked, he will be caught.
The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed.
OP article says he claimed to have broken his shoulder but in the video he’s using both shoulders very well while hugging his father, carrying his backpack and talking.
He looks very healthy rather than withered away from malnourishment and lack of drinking water.
The dude isn’t even tanned much less sun burned to a crisp.
DEA needs to do some checking on him.
