Well, the fact that North American Aviation, the manufacturer, went bust may have had something to do with it.

Boeing has said they have had more than enough interest from foreign militaries that they are going ahead with developing and building an updated, modernized version of it with their own money even if the U.S. government says they don’t want it.

North American has been gone a long time. Even before the Navy worked on an updated version.

Politics killed the deal in all probability.... Why carry on with a great airplane when you can establish a new and better boondoggle?

The tocano and the t-6 are better than an updated and upgraded OV-10? Somehow I doubt it.

North American built great airplanes. It is a shame to see it gone.
